Strong, sturdy bogies designed for heavy use but equally suited to the occasional user. The bogies feature sealed ball races and 5" diameter wheels. Two sizes of bogies are offered

STANDARD & HEAVY DUTY.

STANDARD DUTY - These bogies are 14" long, 10" wide, 6" high with 5" diameter wheels at 8" centres and each bogie weighs 40 lb. ( 18kg). Each axlebox has a strong compression spring and sealed bearings.

HEAVY DUTY - These bogies are 19" long, 10" wide, 6" high with 5" diameter wheels at 13" centres and weigh 53 lb. ( 24 kg ) each. Sealed bearings are fitted and heavier springing. Both types feature bolster plates 14" long, 5" wide with 4" diameter PTFE spacers giving friction free rotation. These free running bogies are unbraked and feature derailing bars at both front and back. NO lubrication is required so no more greasy hands. The fitting of bogie to bolster plate is by means of R clips for security and enables quick removal for transport or storage. Bogies are finished, painted and ready to run. These bogies also offer the scope to be motorized. Vacuum braking is under development.
The heavy duty bogies are used on the red passenger trucks at East Herts Miniature Railway and were used in the 2001 SEQLEC competition.
